Qabaq Test-drive: Geely Emgrand EC8 — اختبار قيادة قبق: جيلي امغراند اي-سي8

أطلقت الشركة الكويتية لإستيراد السيارات (الشايع والصقر) مؤخرا سيارات جيلي في الكويت لأول مرة (اضغط هنا). في البداية، تم أطلاق 3 موديلات جيلي في مقرها جيلي الكويت الجديد في الري في 11 يونيو 2012 والذي يتضمن مركز صالة عرض والخدمة وقطع الغيار. وقد حصلت شركة جيلي الصينية الأن الملكية الكاملة لشركة فولفو للسيارات والتي تم شرائها من شركة فورد للسيارات في أغسطس 2010

في الآونة الأخيرة، أعطيت لي الفرصة لتجربة قيادة جيلي اي-سي-8 الجديدة 2012 لعطلة نهاية الاسبوع. وكانت سيارة اي-سي8 التي اختبرتها كاملة المواصفات والتي ضمت أحدث التقنيات المتوفرة في السوق اليوم. وتشمل هذه المواصفات مقود متعدد الوظائف, ونظام تثبيت السرعة, و نظام الصوت و الترفيه، ونظام الملاحة، وتقنية بلوتوث، ونظام الإضاءة الذكي، وتكييف الهواء الأوتوماتيكي والمقسم الي مناطق، و نوافذ كهربائية، و فتحة، و سنسر أمامي و خلفي. معظم السيارات الأخرى التي تشمل هذه المواصفات المترفة سعرها أكثر بكثير من هذه السيارة

سيارة ايه-سي-8 متوفر بثلاث خيارات وهي جي-اس و جي-ال و جي-تي كاملة المواصفات مع خيارين للمحرك كلاهما من شركة ميتسوبيشي. الأصغر هو 2.0 لتر ب4 أسطوانات و 16 صمام وينتج 136 حصان و 180 نيوتن متر من عزم الدوران. الأكبر هو 2.4 لتر ب4 أسطوانات، 16 صمام وينتج 157 حصان و 213 نيوتن متر من عزم الدوران. وكل من هذه المحركات موصلة بناقل حركة أوتوماتيكي نوع 4تي من ميتسوبيشي

تصميم السيارة الخارجي حديث وبسيط بمصابيح أمامية جميلة نوع ال-اي-دي و هو أكثر شيء عجبني بالتصميم. وكان نظام تكييف الهواء أيضا أكثر من رائع بالرغم من محركها الصغير نسبيا. كان التكييف قادرة على الحفاظ على المقصورة بارد على الرغم من الأحوال الجوية الكويتية المشتعلة. و شيء أخر لاحظته هو استهلاكها للوقود الاقتصادي. فكان عداد الوقود بالكاد يتحرك طوال تجربتي للسيارة. و نظام الترفيه والصوت سهل الاستعمال وبسيط و يستخدم بطاقة اس-دي لحفظ خرائط نظام الملاحة. ولكن الذي يجعل هذه السيارة استثنائية بالفعل هو سعرها (انظر السعر أدناه)

وهناك أيضا اشياء لم تعجبني بالسيارة ويمكن أن تتحسن بسهولة. فكانت عجلة القيادة ضعيفة قليلا ويجب استخدام مقود أكثر سمكا لإعطائها احساس بالرفاهية. و فتحات التهوية مصنوعة من البلاستيك الرخيص وعند محاولة تعديل اتجاه الهواء يدويا يعطيك شعور فضفاض. أخيرا، عندما حاولت وضع كوب عصير بلاستيكي في حامل الكأس كان غطاء المخزن الذي في المنتصف قريب من حامل الأكواب ولا يسمح بوضع الكأس في مكانه بإحكام. هذه هي بعض التعديلات/التحسينات الطفيفة التي يمكن أن تقوم بها جيلي والتي قد تحسن بشكل كبير شعور السائق والانطباع الأول عن سيارة

Kuwait Automotive Imports Co. (Al Shaya & Al Sagar) have recently launched Geely vehicles in Kuwait for the first time (Click here). Initially, they launched 3 GEELY models in its brand new GEELY facility in Al Rai on June 11th 2012 which includes a Showroom, Service and Parts center. The Chinese car company Geely now has full ownership of Volvo Car Corporation which was bought from Ford Motor Company in August 2010.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to test drive the new 2012 Geely EC8 for a whole weekend. It was the fully loaded trim of the EC8 which included most modern technologies available in the market today. These include multi-function steering wheel, cruise control system, audio and video entertainment system, GPS satellite navigation system, Bluetooth mobile communication system, intelligent lighting system, automatic zoned air conditioning, power windows, sunroof, sunshade, and front and rear reversing sensors. Most other cars that include such luxury equipments cost much more than what this EC8 costs.

The EC8 is available in three different trims, GS, GL, and the fully loaded GT along with two engine options both from Mitsubishi. The smaller is a 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder, 16-valve making 136 hp and 180 Nm of torque. The larger is a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder, 16-valve making 157 hp and 213 Nm of torque. Both engines are connected to a Mitsubishi 4T transmission.

The car design is modern and simple with a beautiful LED headlights that I loved most about its design. The air conditioning system was more than fantastic given its relatively small engine. It was able to keep the cabin cool despite the burning Kuwaiti weather. Another thing I noticed was its economical fuel consumption. The fuel gauge was barely moving throughout my test drive. The audio system is user friendly and simple and uses an SD card slot for its Navigation system maps data. What makes this car really special is its price (see price below).

There are also things I didn’t like and can easily be improved. The steering wheel was a bit too thin and a thicker steering should be used to give it a feel of luxury. The air vents are made of cheap plastic and when I try to adjust them by hand they feel loose. Finally, when I tried to put a milkshake plastic cup in the cup holder, the center glove compartment lid got in the way and I could not insert it all the way in its place. These are some minor adjustment/improvements Geely can do that will significantly improve the driver’s feel and first impression on the car.
