The first difference is the front grille and air intakes designs. The V10 comes with chromed cross lines grille versus the V8’s black plastic straight lines. The air intakes in the V10 are also different with a more pronounced shiny black design. Another difference is the side metal slate which is apparent from the first two pictures above. The V10 version has a “bent outward” and bigger vents slate.
The second and most noticeable difference is in the rear of the car, the tailpipes. The V10 exhaust has two large, rounded and chromed tailpipes while the V8 has four (two each side) small pipes. Another difference in the back is the design of the rear bumper and around the license plate. The V10 comes with an all black shiny rear cover while the V8 comes in the car paint color. Stare at the two pictures above and you will become an expert.
The wheels in the R8 V10 are also more styled and look more masculine than the ones fitted on the V8 version.
Looking at the two pictures above, another difference can be seen. The two metal squares design pieces on the two sides of the engine window are silver on the V10 and black on the V8.
Last but definitely not least is the beef under the hood. The engine is what really makes the difference. The V10 has a Lamborghini Gallardo 5.2L 10 cylinder engine making 525 horsepower and the V8 has a 4.2L 8 cylinder engine making 420 horsepower. Moreover, the V10 not only makes more power, but also looks much more better and fills the engine compartment while the V8 looks tinny engine in comparison and creates large gaps in the compartment. The V10 also makes better and meaner sound than the V8. You can see it all in the video below.
